Martin Allsopp is head of our Residential Conveyancing Department and has been practising since qualification in 1974. Martin has extensive experience of more than 40 years dealing with all aspects of residential conveyancing ranging from buying and selling properties whether leaseholds and freeholds, lease extensions and any re-mortgage work.
Martin qualified as a Solicitor in 1974, aged 22 years. And has worked in Solihull since that time, firstly at Reynolds & Co Solicitors, before joining the late John Taylor MP, to form the firm of Taylor Allsopp in 1978. The firm of Allsopp & Co was formed in January 1983. The firm has traded in Solihull ever since that time and became a well-respected firm within the Town. In January 2004 Allsopp & Co took over the firm of AJ Salisbury & Co and merged the two firms in 2009.
Having been a member of Birmingham Law Society for 20 years Martin was elected to the Council of the Society in 2008 and was proud and honoured to be elected President of the Birmingham Law Society in 2013-2014. Martin continues his work within the Law Society and sits on the Property and Development committee which aids his role of head of conveyancing within the firm.
On 1 August 2017 Blackhams acquired and merged with Allsopp & Co where Martin became a partner in the new firm and continues to run a very busy conveyancing department from the Solihull offices.
According to his wife of 30 years, away from work Martin enjoys gardening, golf, fine dining, entertaining and supporting Walsall FC, his beloved football club.
